I need help installing / compiling a program to run on Vista via Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition

OK.  I am trying to install:
http://oss.coresecurity.com/projects/pshtoolkit.htm

I want to run this program on Windows Vista.  I have downloaded both the files and  Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition.  It's unclear to me what to do now...

You need to extract the tgz file (using some kind of zip program - 7-zip.org)

It should have a solution file (SLN) which you will need to convert to C++ 2008 solution.

Once the solution is converted and open within Visual C++, you can than run the program by pressing play.

Once compiled, and run once - the file can be found in \[Unzip Folder]\bin\debug\ or \release\ depending on the default settings

I downloaded both and unzipped them.

One file was .src and the other file was .4...  I tried to import the .src into VS, but, it wouldn't open the file...?

Looks like the binaries are already available here within the tgz file:

http://oss.coresecurity.com/pshtoolkit/release/1.4/pshtoolkit_v1.4.tgz

You should be able to run these through DOS directly.
