Restore multiple copies of file

Hi Folks,

We use TSM with the Domino agent and want to restore 8 copies (versions) of a users .nsf mailfile. Is there anyway i can select all the mailfiles in the TSM GUI and restore all the files in one go? Or will i be forced to do each one individually?

Thanks in advance,

Baikie

Hi,
unfortunately, this is not possible.
TSM will only restore the first file you selected, if using commandline with 'pick', and will not allow you to select more than one version of a file when using GUI.

You can absolutely select more than one version at a time using the "pick" command in the cli or using the "show inactive versions" option in the GUI.  The "active" copy is the last version backed-up, and "inactive" copies are simply all copies still stored that are prior to your last backup.

Why wouldn't you be able to restore more than one version at a time?

Did you ever try what you wrote?  Just try to select more than one version in the gui (select, not display!)
And restore? To which target? Original location/alternate target folder? Files with the same name?  Stacked, or what? Must look somewhat funny.
