I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I would add a user account, set them up with a mailbox, then create a contact in AD, then tell mailbox to forward mail to new contact which will have a contact e-mail adrdress, and you can then save the emails in the users mailbox for monitoring purposes.
There may be better ways to do this though, but it will work.

Has Powershell sent you back into the Stone Age?

If managing Active Directory using Windows Powershell® is making you feel like you stepped back in time, you are not alone.  For nearly 20 years, AD admins around the world have used one tool for day-to-day AD management: Hyena. Discover why.

People would send mail to your mailbox address and then it would forward to the contact mail address automatically. Is that what you mean?

You have an option whether to keep emails on the mailbox or delete after forwarding. If you keep them, you can just login to the mailbox and see what emails have been received as it would have been stored and then forwarded afterwards.

OK, you CANNOT receive e-mail for a mail-enabled contact. A mail enabled contact is really for internal users to be able to send to external addresses easily. A mail-enabled contact's addrfess is managed bya  different mail server. That's why you cannot receive e-mail directly for this address.

You can create a mailbox with the username@yourdomain.com address, then in the exchange delivery tab, select forward to the mail-enabled contact you've created.
Your server will forward any inbound mail for  username@yourdomain.com to the contacts external email address.
This way, you will be able to view all inbound mail forwarded to that contacts external; address.
I hope that clarifies things for you.
