how can I run a report of the logical size of an exchange 2003 mailstore?

My exchange 2003 mailstore runs close to the 75 GB limit and sometimes dismounts as a result of exceeding 75GB. I want to run a report on the logical size of the mailstore - how do I do this please

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

As far as I know, you can't without dismounting it and running some ESEUTIL on it :)

However I usually just export the mailbox list out of the ESM and import it into Excel, then SUM up the Size Field and Voila :)

Far easier and quicker :)

I don't think the exported report shows the logical, or indeed up to date mailbox sizes and I understand that Exchange dismounts the mailstore if the logical size exceeds the limit which is set at the max of 75GB on my server.

Fair enough,

In that case have a dig through your Event log for event ID 1221. This is your nightly "Online Defrag" report, and the number of free space is usually quite accurate.

If you require further accuracy;

ESEUTIL /MS on the database. This will give you an output similar to the picture found here (about 1/2 way down the page under "Measuring Recyclable Space"
