Adobe Acrobat 9 Display problems

Just upgraded from  version 7 and when I scan from an HP Laser M2727Nnf for the first time the document display is just fine.  When I try to scan another doc the display is covered with random black areas that make it unreadable.  The thumbnail in acrobat shows up just fine and the hard print copy is OK too.  Have to shutdown acrobat and reload the scanned doc to make it look OK

Whats up??

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

How are you doing?

See what version of the driver you have for your printer. The newest one (61.072.467.21) can be downloaded here:

Also - there is a firmware upgrade, which I would recommend getting as well.

Does the scan look fine the second time you open it, or does it always have the black areas when open. I am wondering if it is only giving a limited view or preview on the opening. Also, if you change the aspect (percentage from say 84% to 100% or 116% to 150%, etc) does that "re-draw" the PDF correctly? I often have issues like you are saying when I "print to PDF" from Excel, but it happens to be the percentage ratio that file is being displayed at.

As of now, there are no updates for Acrobat Pro 9, so this might be addressed (if the above does not solve it) in a future update!

Hope this helps,
