Silverlight Question

Experts,

Is Silverlight only for Windows projects and not web projects?  In either case, are there any cool tools out there for creating front-ends for the web in the .NET environment?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Silverlight is meant for the web. MS has made the plugin available for Windows and Mac, for IE, Firefox, Safari, and Opera so it can be used by almost anyone. Also, there is a project developing the plugin for Linux as well. You can do animations and such with Silverlight, but it really shines as a tool for making great UI and web apps. If you haven't seen them, look at several of the samples at http://silverlight.net/Showcase/.
