Migrating from SBS 2003 to SBS 2008 - where does HP Smartstart fit in?

Hi,

We're migrating from SBS 2003 Premium to SBS 2008 Standard. We're going to use an older HP Proliant DL380 G4 as the 2008 box.

Our migration is mostly planned and ready to go... but I'm wondering if we can / should be running the install from a Smartstart CD?

I've heard v8.1 introduced support for SBS 2008 installs, but I'm not exactly sure how the process will run if we do a migration using the answer file etc. as documented in the SBS_Migration.doc.

Has anyone had experience migrating from SBS 2003 to SBS 2008 using Smartstart and able to share their experience?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I'm also preparing to migrate to sbs 2008 and I'm wondering how to use smart start cd and answer file together. The solution is not directly answering this, so could you let me know the procedure?

Thank you very much!

I'm also starting this upgrade and the smartstart install in not finding the answer file.  I'm trying to get HP's help but they are lost.  At second level support now.  Does anyone have anything new on this issue?
The procedure is the same: Crate the answer file, put it on usb key and connect it to server, start installation normally with smart start cd.
To cerate answer file:
