phone system ?

Hi guys,

At my company, I connect the phone to internet jack and then my computer is connected to that phone to have internet. Just wondering, what system are they using ? I heard that we have T3 connections with voice from global crossing company. Thanks.

they're likely using VOIP phones. Some phones have an internal hub. You plug the phone into the network jack (I assume this is what you mean by internet jack) and then the PC into the phone. This would be used where it isn't cost effective or feasible to have two network drops at each desk.

what does VOIP cost ? Thanks.

That is somewhat like asking what does ethernet cost. VOIP means voice of IP. Cost would depend on a great number of things that would be outside the context/forum of a question like this. VOIP is simply the method or standard behind the hardware.
