Exchange 2003 storage group

Hi i need help understanding exchange 2003 storage groups i want to restore an exchange information store on a test server and i need help on how to restore the exchange information store on this test server (please note that this server will not be in the production network and it will not be part of the domain.)
if any can guide me on how to perform this task i will be extremly thankful

Hi,
Take a AD System State Backup and Exchange Server System State along with Infomation store and Logs backup
Now use the virtual environment that will not talk to production and restore these backups there....it should be ok....

You need to install Exchange with the same Exchange organization name. You also need to create Admin group and Storage group with the same names as the original production server is. Then just restore the databases from the backup. Alternatively you can also use Recovery storage groups to test your backups. The limitation in that method is you can only restore one storage group at a time.
