Wsus 3.0 installed and its occupying more disk space, how to reduce it

after implementing wsus 3.0 its dispatching the updates smoothly but the problem is disk space in server.
There is 40 GB for the particular drive where WSUS installed but its occupied 37 GB as for now, so how to reduce the disk space now.

    Have a look at this technote:

    there are some useful commands in there for managing WSUS, esp the deleteunneededrevisions which "Purges the update metadata for unnecessary update revisions from the database."

    But this is only a short term solution. I would extend the partition to give it more space or move the store elsewhere.
