ACT Scheduler is Greyed


I have act for premium 2009v11 in two machines (one in server having XP Pro and one in my laptop with vista business).

Everything works fine, but I need to activate the ACT Scheduler so I can take the backup of the database automatically. My ACT Scheduler is Greyed and I am not sure about the reason for it.

Please suggest.

I started from all programs and there is scheduler running icon to my taskbar but the scheduler doesnt work.

I mean I set a back up for everyday at 1 PM yesterday and it didnt backup the file today. My laptop and server was on.

Note. I am trying to save the backup on my laptop while database server is an xP machine.

Ahhh... ok, if you want the scheduler to run on a machine that the database isn't on, or to backup to another machine, you need to change the service login to an account with access to the folders on both machines.

I am having same issue in same scenario..(Database in different machine-( MS Server 2008-64 bit) and Vista 32 bit Clent machines and both are in Domain)

I tried your solutions but as of now no luck...I made logon as domain Administrator but still its grayed in ACT.
When I opend it from vista client machine via all programms, ACT sceduler service is starting and I can assign a task also. Neverthless task is not happening which I scheduled.(calendar,backup etc...)

Any suggestions?
