We are just doing some testing with Vista machines and with the current print drivers that we use for XP Pro, our Vista test machines get that error message on some of the print drivers.
I figured it was because the Vista pc needed the Vista driver but when I tried to load it on the Windows 2003 server, I also got the same error message.
The last printer that we added was just a little desktop printer HP LaserJet P1505N and we received that same error message when we tried to install the drivers

    Accepted Solution

Is User Access Control (UAC) disabled as you won't be able to install print drivers from a remote server if it is.
