I am looking to upgrade 2 Dell desktops and a notebook computer on my network. They are Optiplex, Dimension Inspiron computers with either 512mb or 1gb memory. Which computer specifications will you recommend for the Dell desktops and the notebook?

Depending on the software you would like to run, vista should get at least 1, better 2 GB Ram minimum, 512 is not enough, not recommended.
And please think about presentations: if you plan to use aero, you need a decent video adapter as well, directx 9 capable.
CPU is not that important, so any Pentium-M with at least 1,5 GHz is fairly enough.
