Scanning to E-mail Issues

I have several different copiers in house.  Three Canon's and a MInolta.  All of them at once decided to act up and stopped sending documents via scanning.  The Canons now take about 2 minutes to get through and the Minolta quit entirely and just fails.  I have ruled out switches by routing the exchange server and copy machine to the same switch, tried two of them.  It has to be something on the exchange server blocking this or holding this up.  Has anyone heard of anything like this?

Yes I can see the connection open on the Exchange server under the SMTP queue.
WOW!!! After two weeks of messing with this I found it.  When I went and dug around the Exchange Queus for a while, I noticed the company that filters my mail was holding on to their connections for a long period.  I think that was stopping my copies from sending via the SMTP Virtual Server.  My ISP reset whatever they needed to and cleared their connections out and now my scans fly through like before under a few seconds.  Thanks Mikealcl!  I was checking the queues before but had to really watch them to figure this out and I kind of ruled that side of things out until I was told to go back there.
