How do I stop users adding a resource as an attendee or organiser in outlook 2007?

We have various mailboxes that we use as resources for meeting rooms.

Users add the resource as an attendee.
Users add the resource as an organiser.
Users do not add the resource as a resource.

We user outlook 2007 and Exchange 2003.

I would suggest try and add the users or the distribution list with a permission of Author under Resource Scheduling.

They were set to owner.
Setting them to Author changed nothing.

I've set the resources' mailboxes to reject all mail, so the user will get an NDR if they add a resource as an attendee. However this doesn't really solve anything.

Hi, Relentim.

Unfortunately Outlook has no built in means of doing this.  The only solution would be to use a script to that's triggered each time an item is sent to check the account names against a list of known resource accounts and refuse to send the message if any of them are listed incorrectly.  The script itself is simple, but it would have to be deployed to every computer in your organization and a savvy user could turn it off or make changes.  If you want to give it a try though, then I can provide the script and instructions on using it.
