Need help modifying Right Fax MSI to push out via Active Directory.

Not sure how many people out there have used Right Fax software, but I thought I'd give this a try.

The Captaris Right Fax Server comes with an MSI File for installing the "fax util client".  The client installs correctly if you run the install from the client PC.  I would like to use active directory to push out the "fax util client" to a large number of PCs.  The issue is that you need to create a transform file to answer all of the questions during the install or else the installation is unsuccessful.  When I did the transform file and setup the install through AD, the client PC tried to install the msi file, but the install did not work.

Does anyone have any experience in getting this to work?

How did you specify the transform?

the correct way is this:
  1. add the msi
  2. when it asks whether to assign, publish, or advanced, say "advanced"
  3. when it opens up, go to tab "modifications" and add the transform.
  4. specify other things on other tabs
You can only add transform when you create new package.

...I re-read your question and realized that I answered to the case when you'd say "the client PC tried to install the msi file, but the transform did not work" - but you said "install did not work". If this is what you meant, then (1) try without a transform (2) what exactly did not work? what's in the log file?

We didn't add the transform appropriately.
