Backup failing with a license error?

We have been running backup exec fine for the past 2 months and its suddenly stopped working . I am using it to  back up our file server the  error message is below. I have tried reinstalling the remote agent on the server in question also tried retrying the job with just one directory still no joy I havent been able to find anything on the web to resolve this . Nothing special about whats being backed up its just standard data no SQL back up or anything else being backed up other than standard data files. The license keys I have installed are - Symantec backupexec for Windows servers, Library expansion option and Remote agent for Windows and Netware Servers. Do I need to purchase an additional option I didnt get a waring about anything expiring from an eval period.???

I have seen this happen if you do a liveupdate on the backup exec server and do not uninstall and then reinstall the remote agent on the remote server.

Also, if you believe it is a licensing error, in BackupExec go to Tools->License Keys and Installation and verify the license keys are correct. Continue through the rest of the installation to complete.

I installed all available updates yesterday afternoon, I then reinstalled the agent on the machine in question still no joy. Do you knw from looking at what I have specified I have installed on the machine if I should be sing this issue or am I missing a license for some other agent?

Try recreating the backup job from scratch and seeing if it works that way. If it does, then my guess is that something in the backup job got changed or corrupted.

No I have tried this already, I also tried just backing up one directory and the error still occurs,..

I have also just ran a small test I am able to back up the c: drive on the local mahcine fine just to be sure the eror was related to backing up the remote server.

In the end I reinstalled the app and its working again, this may return in a month or two I will wait and see what happens.
