I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Is this an additional drive, or a replacement for what was already installed? If an addidional drive, ensure that one is set to master and the other slave or both cable select. Main thing is two devices on the same cable must not be set the same. For a single drive, it won't matter so much what it is set to, but should be master or cable select and plugged into the end of the cable. If rebooting persists, got to Start - Control Panel - System - Advanced. Startup & Recovery. In Settings, untick Automatically Restart. Now instead of rebooting it should give you a blue stop screen. What message is displayed?
