Is there a way the the pix/asa platform to setup the firewall to obtain the default route from the ISP?

Only if doing DHCP or PPPoE with your ISP.  Use the "setroute" option in the ip address config.

For example:

int vlan100
ip add dhcp setroute

so by using that command I would not have to use the following command?

route outside 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.0.1

Yes, as long as you are doing DHCP or PPPoE on the outside.
