Capture image 4x bigger than screen

Need to capture an image about 4x bigger than the screen, and save to a single JPG file (NOT stitch it together).

Some programs like Google maps DYNAMICALLY put together the screen image if you scroll too far, but often a 4x screen size is available -- I just can't find software to capture it.

Someone in this thread --
suggested webshot.  I have tried to get it to work, but the program doesn't seem to work with google maps, and you can't save the full image directly from google maps.

Anyway, this question is not just about google maps, it relates to ANY software that will capture an image say 3200 x 2400 pixels from a browser window, and save it as a single JPG file.  Please suggest other programs that will do this, that work.  Thanks

And I also need this software to capture part of a PDF file -- like at 4x magnification, to capture an area 4x bigger than screen size.  With Acrobat, you can't block out an area bigger than the screen and save it.
