Error 1 The project could not be deployed to the 'localhost' server because of the following connectivity problems : A connection cannot be made to redirector. Ensure that 'SQL Browser' service is running. To verify or update the name of the target server, right-click on the project in Solution Explorer, select Project Properties, click on the Deployment tab, and then enter the name of the server.

1. You can connect to SSAS Server via SQL Server Management Studio?
2. Is your server in LOCALHOST?
Check the attached image... to change the server name...

Remember: You have 2 connections in a normal SSAS Project... one the OLTP/Source database and one to the OLAP/Destination database.

Helped?
regards!

I am trying to connect to SSAS cube from Excel. I have been following this link : http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/sql/2005/httpasws.mspx This worked for in the staging environment where i have WFE and Database server both as same server. On the production environment the database server and WFE are two different server. I am unable to connect to server as it throws an error message: Unable to connect to database.
