WSUS 3.0: How to push the update

Hi Experts,

I recently installed the WSUS 3.0 in our test environment and am playing with it for the past few days.
Is there a function on the server console to push the selected updates to an individual client or a client group shown on the Computer trees?

Thanks in advance.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Yes.

Approve the update and it will be pushed out to all those within the tree that you selected on the next scheduled update.

You can also use the Deadline option to force clients to install as soon as possible.

WSUS is not Push capable it only is a server solution that allows you to manage which updates your computers recieve or not. Once WSUS downloads the updates and is approved then it will make it available to the computers that uses the WSUS as its update agent. You CANNOT however push the updates to the clients, you can only manage and make available to the clients.
