Can I share exchange callendars across domain forests without moving my Exchange mailboxes onto one server

We've recently taken over another company and need to integrate our email systems. The other company want to build a new Exchange server on their domain; migrate all our users onto it; and re-route all email through them (with our addresses as primary aliases). Whereas we want to setup a two way forest trust and create contacts on both domains for users in the other domain, as this is less user-disruption.

I know it is possible to share / see free/busy info across the domains using our preferred method, but will users in domain A be able to view callendars of users in domain B using the forest trusts / contacts methodology?
