Pointer options doesn't work in Powerpoint

I can't get the pointer options to work. I right click on the live presentation, select pointer options, then felt tip pen and nothing changes. The mouse cursor is still showing?? I've tryed with the highlighter and ballpoint pen, same result. It's asif the mouse is always taking over? Please help I need this asap for my presentation.

Do you have any special cursors enabled in your Windows settings? Maybe these are overriding the PPT ones?

No nothing special. It is happening on more than one PC .. ??
Hmmm, that's really odd. Seems it's definitely a problem with the specific file, then.

Is the file set to Kiosk mode? That's in Slide Show | Set up Slide Show.

No, I just open up power point, new presentation. I just put in a few lines on the first page for testing and try it out in presentation mode. When I right click, select my pointer, it always stays on the mouse... very weird
