How can I delete orphance backup jobs created by policy?

I need a bit of help:

I created a backup job from Policy/Policy Template. While the backup was running, I modifed the policy template and eventually deleted it (policy). Now, I cannot delete the backup job as it prompts me to remove its association with the policy which doesn't exist any more. KB article on Veritas support page says to contact support for upgrade but I have no time for that as the data to be backed up is critical and need daily/weekly data protection. If I don't find the answers, I might have to re-install Be.

Please help if anyone's got any experience with this: even tips about going to the back-end sql dbase would be appreciated.

Hi,
Please try to do the following:
1-Login to the computer using the safe mode.
2-Go to scheduled tasks and try to delete the backup job.
3-If you cannot delete it, then right click on the backup job and take the ownership of the job, delete other permissions and assign it to the account that you used to login to safe mode and delete it.

You are probably refering to NT Backup. My question is on Backup Exec 11d for Windows Server.

If the policy has been deleted without removing the templates then you have ORPHANED JOBS and you will need to edit the Backup Exec SQL database to remove the entries.If you have a contract with Symantec,contact them and they will do it for you... no easy option left.....

I read that and thought there was an easy way out. I'll raise a support case with them.

sorry for not able to help you... please make sure you backup the database before they run a script to delete the obsolete jobs on the database......
