Usually this error happens because photoshop is trying to connect to a printer which it cannot gain access to.. (Tipically your default printer)

To get around this problem set your default printer to a PDF Printer or another 'fake' printer.

Here's a free PDFPrinter: http://pdfprinter.com/download/

Install that then set it as the default printer by navigating to Control Panel > Printers > find the newly installed PDFPrinter > Right Click > Set As Default Printer.

Exit out of photoshop and re-launch it, then try opening 2 files again, this time they should open fine without a crash.

Hope This Helps!
