creating script to change the AD login name

i have more than 2500 users in my ad residing in various OU's . I would like to change all the users login ID buy using a script.
I have a first name- second name-last name
i need the user to be first name first letter-secondname first letter and lastname, how can i do that

    I would post this in the VB script and MS DOS TA, since they tend to know how to do this.
