I have a .p12 file.  It contains a key and corresponding certificate.  How can I extract only the value of the public key?  I have a keytool gui application that will allow me to convert from p12 to jks if this will help.

You can use openssl to extract the data.
http://openssl.org/docs/apps/pkcs12.html

You can get the openssl application for various platforms including windows.

You were correct, I was able to use openssl to perform the extraction.  However, openssl has many options and parameters.  A lot of research was still required to extract the key.  I thank you for taking the time to answer my question and point me in the right direction!
