Hey according to the flash 8 docs

"You can use the \u escape sequence to construct restrict strings. The following code includes only the characters from ASCII 32 (space) to ASCII 126 (tilde).
my_txt.restrict = "\u0020-\u007E"; "

Iv tried this but it doesnt include chars like "!" , "£", "&", "*" which are in this ascii range

any ideas please

hey its kewl got this one, it works in actionscript i was doing tests in a fla using the component inspector and didnt work, moved to as and was fine
