How can we remove multiple (corrupt) published applications?

In our CAE 2.0 there are 2 entries in the Applications List which we are not able to remove.
The application 'Microsoft Word' appears 3 times in the Applications List . 2 of these are corrupt because we can not remove them from the list. They are  assigned to some user groups but everytime we try to remove these users/groups from the application we get the error 'Value does not fall within the expected range'.
We tried installing all latest Hotfixes for CEA 2.0 but that didn't help.
Is there a way to manually remove these Published Applications?

i would not try to do it manually unless you want to completely rebuild your farm database.
1.  i would backup the information store.
2.  i would stop the ima service on each server and do a dsmaint recreatelhc
3.  then try to remove the apps from the console again.

Hi hodgeyohn,
when you say 'backing up the information store' did you mean the data store (as in dsmaint backup)?
If not, how do I bckp the information store?
yes that is what i meant.

Hi hodgeyohn,
I tried it and there is some progress but not solved yet.
I explain myself:
after recreating the local host cache, the 2 corrupt Apps were deleted automatically in the CAE Quick Start-->Setup-->Applications List (although still throwing an error when I click the Application List: 'Value does not fall within the expected range'.)
In the CAE Quick Start-->Management-->Applications List however, these 2 corrupt Apps are still present. And they are indeed still published.

Are there other posible solutions?

Thanks hodgeyohn!
chfarm worked just fine.
We tried putting the ds in SQL but that didn't quit work. We have to look into that some day I guess.

Thanks hodgeyohn!
CHFARM worked.
We had to chfarm the failover server as well.
We now have a clean system again. Thanks!
