How to connect to Terminal Server 2008 from Wyse terminals and RDP 5.2
We have a Terminal Server 2008 setup and configured, but we cannot get our Wyse terminals or Rdesktop to connect as the server will only allow RDP 6.1 connections.
We have gone through various settings but cannot see how to resolve the problem.
Can someone point us in the right direction please ?
Thanks

I've not found any solution to do solve this on server side. We also tried to reduce encryption requirement, but the only difference was another error message on the old rdesktop (1.4.x).
When we found that some collegues can connect depending on version of rdesktop, we stopped researching for the possibility to configure this on server side.
As stated in following document, Wyse 6.4 supports Windows Server 2008.

Ok. Thanks very much.
It looks like we will have to make do and have a shift round of clients....

After some testing I found the solution to my problem. I'm putting it here for others.
If you are unable to get earlier clients than RDP 6 to connect to terminal server 2008, remove the terminal server role and then set the remote desktop to client compatible encryption etc.
In other words, make sure remote desktop works before you install Terminal Services.

I thought there was a way to alter the settings on the Terminal Server to reduce the settings. W've already reduced the encryption etc on the server but no change.
