I have a server running small business server 2003 SP2.  I would like to upgrade to Small Business Server 2003R2.  The current configuration is running MS Exchange to handle email etc. I have the R2 software, but before I stick the DVD in the server I would like to know what the up date process is like, how long it will take etc?  Does the R2 software do the update without changes to the existing configuration? Do I need to be a server expert to do the upgrade?

    Accepted Solution

If you are just doing the R2 update on CD2, it takes about 5 minutes, and no changes are made

If you are planning on installing CD 1 as well it is a different story.
