Two of our users are having this issue. When they open a Word attachment from their email (Lotus Notes), they recieve the following error message "Unable to locate program". When they open Word documents outside of email, Word launches a blank gray screen, they are to open the file twice for the document to appear on the screen.
So far I have done the following:
Recreated the Notes.ini file
Replaced their Normal.dot file
Created an entry in the registry to fix damaged SmartTags
Under Windows Explorer, File Type, made sure that the DOC extension is associated with Microsoft Word
