Shouldn't be the case, I'm actually having that exact problem with one of my users, but haven't started digging into it. Any errors or warnings in the event logs? How many users of BES?

no error in the event logs.
as I remember, I used only could apply one-way as well...can not remember exactly.

I think the 'read mark' can work two ways, but the delete... is it some setting in 'server wins' or 'handheld wins'?

Has Powershell sent you back into the Stone Age?

If managing Active Directory using Windows Powershell® is making you feel like you stepped back in time, you are not alone.  For nearly 20 years, AD admins around the world have used one tool for day-to-day AD management: Hyena. Discover why.

On the handheld: Open your messages. Open the menu and select Options. Scroll down to Email Reconciliation and click again. Select Handheld next to Delete On. Change option to delete on Mailbox and Handheld, then save.

If it's not working send down the service book again, that should fix it.

The instructions may vary depending on the handheld, but it should give you an idea where to look.
