Some, but not all, email sent from our Exchange Server errors out 5.1.8 domain does not exist

Our Exchange 2003 server delivers most email, but more and more of it is coming back as undeliverable due to "domain does not exist" - I recently worked with AT&T DNS services, and they now have a PTR record setup with our MX. But the problem is getting worse, not better. I am using their lookup servers as forwarders. Did I miss something?

Find more reliable forwarders or try not using forwarders at all.
