Missing "manage Controller" icon on DS3000

I'm trying to install a second controller in the DS3400. Documentation says to go to the "manage Controller" icon on the Support tab of the Storage Manager software to place the controller online. The "manage controller" icon is not there though. I have upgraded the software and the firmwares to latest levels:
Storage Manger Software 2.72.35.05 - 2nd May
ESM 1.93 - 2nd May
Controller firmware - 06.70.69.00 - 2nd May

I have re booted the DS3400 and the managment server - but still can not see the icon. How do I get it?

Thanks

You just bought the controller, so you should have a warranty, yes?

Their disk support teams are VERY good.  I have two DS4300's and every time I have ever needed them, they are right there.  They are based in Atlanta, too, so no difficulty understanding them.

no - its not new. Its been a single controller system and I'm trying to upgrade it to a dual controller. I'm not too sure if the icon should be available in single controller mode

The second controller you're trying to add is new, yes?  The controller should have a warranty on it.

Plus the base warranty on these systems is 3 years.  Since (I don't think) they've even been making that model for 3 years yet, they should have no problem with providing telephone support...

The solution by the way (from IBM) is that a single controller unit should not have the "Manage controller" icon. You only get that when it is a dual controller solution. Even when you add another controller you need to tell the system that it is a dual controller. At the command line run the following command to tell the system it is a dual controller

Smcli ctlr_A_IP_address -c "set storageSubsystem redundancyMode=duplex;"
