"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

mod_rewrite cannot change HTML source code. You'll need a 3rd-party module, mod_proxy_html [1] for that. Mod_rewrite acts at HTTP request klevel, not HTTP response. Mod_rewrite can rewrite or redirect incoming requests (i.e. s/o clicked on a link or typed the URL into the location bar) to an other location.
