We run Exchange 2003 and want to know if this issue would be the same in Exchange 2007.

When we turn off Trend micro Antivirus Scan the Exmerge will get the dumpster fine.  When it is on it will not as the files appear to be locked and can not be retrieved.

Exchange 2007 has an import / export mailbox tool, and only the sp1 version has exmerge as an add-in;
you can run exmerge for 2003 in exchange 2007 (see this article: http://www.exchangeinbox.com/articles/051/ex2k7exmerge.htm)
I don't believe this issue occurs in 2007
hope this helps you

Thanks for the Link.  Have you used the import/export mailbox tool to export the Mailbox Dumpster aka the deleted items in exchange 2007 with a Virus Scanning tool running on that server ?

Trying to find out if the dumpster can be exported and if it works while virus scanning is running.
