We have a site to site tunnel setup between our main office and a server at a hosted site. The main office has a Cisco ASA5510 and the hosted site has a Cisco ASA5505 The hosted server is running Server 2003 and the clients are XP and Vista. We browse the network to the server at the hosted site, copy the 50 mb folder and then paste it to the c: drive on the client in our main office. The download speed is roughly 5k per second. The hosted server also has Sharepoint on it. I put a 50 mb zip file in Sharepoint and when we download the file over the tunnel via http (IE) we get a download speed of 800k per second. We also copy SQL data back and forth without problems as well.
Is there a setting in Windows that is slowing up traffic when we do a copy/paste? As stated above, file transfer through SQL and HTTP work just fine. I checked with Cisco to see if it was an issue with our ASA configs. They had me change the TCPMSS to 1200 on each of the ASA's but that didnt make a difference.
