Outlook Public Folders and Mail Merge

I have added my Outlook Public folders to my address book by:

* Right clicking the public listing, selecting Properties.
* Going to the Outlook Address Book tab
* Selecting Show this folder as an e-mail address book

Still when I go to do a merge from within Word (Tools > Letters and mailing > Mail Merge), when I select Select from Outlook contacts and then click Choose contacts folder, I get the following error message:

Unable to obtain list of tables from the data source. Any ideas why?

Try doing it the other way around.

From within outlook in your chosen Contact folder select Mail merge, and follow the prompts to open your Word Template (if you have already created it) or create a new template if you haven't..

This will get you back into word withe the correct contacts selected.
