Window mobile 6 with active sync

Hi, My client has Treo 800w with window mobile 6. I am trying to setup Active sync to sync directly with Microsoft Exchange server 2003 and I cannot. I am constantly getting the following error code (support code: 0x8503001C). I have a wtchguard firewall installed. Is there a port I have to open to let this communication pass through.

Thanks a lot

Hi mattkiran,

Do you have a WMDC 6.0 or WMDC 6.1? Apparently some PC having sync problem with WMDC 6.1. Try to uninstall 6.1 and downgrade it to WMDC 6.0 and see how it goes.

Hi jckingjc, I just tried my exchange server in my office and configured Active Sync on same phone and it works fine but the moment I try to Sync with my client's Exchange server it only syncs email nothing else. You think it has something to with My client's exchange server ? Thanks a lot for your help.

Be VERY careful downgrading your operating system, apart from the fact if you don't know what your doing you can brick your handset alot of companies will void your warrenty if you change the OS.

Hmm, Strange.

But anyway can you try to uninstall your 6.1 version of mobile 6 and install 6.0 version? And see if you can get calendar and contact works on your client side?

About how to do this....

Do you connect your client's Treo 800w smartphone with your laptop or PC? try to uninstall the WMDC 6.1 on your computher and install 6.0 version.....

But be careful when you setup the new server profile in WMDC6.0... untick over write and replace option. Otherwise the contact list in your mobile will gone.... I did it last time ... Awwww.....

Good luck.

By the way, To O2James, please read the comments carefully and dont post if you are not sure the situation. We are tring to downgrade a mobile software on PC but not a OS on smartphone. Thanks.

I did misunderstand the qutestion but would still like to point out the warranty issue if you have a extended warrenty etc generally these are voided even with PC, tablets, handhelds etc
