Custom forms issue in oracle forms 6i

Hi,

I am developing a custom form using Oracle forms 6i. One of the requirements is, when the form is opened,  the datablock should be queried and the records should be displayed in the form. ie.. there should be no need to manually press f11 and ctrl + f11. I have specified the "Where" condidtion in the datablock and the query happens when i press ctrl + f11. I am not able to figure out how the records can be displayed automatically when the form loads.. I am using a single table in the datablock.

Kindly help.. i am quite new to Oracle forms.

add the statement

execute_query;

in the when_new_form_instance-trigger

thanks. When I tried this in another form where there are many tabs and in each tab we have a different data block, when the form loads, the query is executed only in the first tab. Kindly advise the work around for this. So that the query is executed in all the datablocks.

Use go_block or go_item for each block that you have:

go_block('block1');
execute_query;
go_block('block2');
execute_query;

Open in new window
