tried already your advices. didn't help

Word experienced an error trying to open the file...

Problem is that everything worked fine last week.

    you have not mentioned the error that you get. it may be because of the macro. disable macro and try again. also please check this links

    Since we are not sure about the error we cannot give you exact solution

    error is: * Check the file permissions for the document or drive.
    * Make sure there is sufficient free memory and disk space.
    * Open the file with the text recovery converter

    I would try opening the document under the "Recover text from any document" option

    File, Open, in the dropdown box, select, Recover text from any document...


    You could try -- at a blank document, Insert, File, browse to the problem it, and click Insert
