how to backup data on old blackberry, restore it to new one and activate new one on bes

my boss is getting the new blackberry storm on monday and i was thrusted into the roll of BES admin. i would like to know the steps for:

backing up all data from his current BB device
restoring data to new blackberry storm
activating new blackberry storm on my bes

i have encountered a lot of problems setting up bb on the bes and rim support is way too expensive for us to afford.

thanks

OK. Download the BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.5 or 4.7 (dont get 4.6 it has issues).

Each of these versions has a "Switch Device Wizard". This will back up all your old stuff, restore to the new device, then activate the device.

you dont need to touch the BES to do this. make sure the profile that the desktop manager uses is the boss's though!

Desktop Manager will connect to your BES as long as you are on the same domain. it will activate it for your over the wire.
