error when running crystal reports in vb.net winforms application

Hello Experts,

I am using crystal repiorts for reporting in a winforms application that connects to an oracle db. The application is working ok but whenever the user tries to run any of the reports available via the reports menu they get the below error:
"Could not load file or assembly 'CrystalDecisions.Windows.Forms, Version=10.2.3600.0,Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified."

I have added the Crystal reports 10 NET embedded reporting merge module to my setup project, added the correct keycode in the mergemodule properties. But still get the above error when the application is installed on user machines....any help will be greatly appreciated as this is quite urgent....thanks all in advance.

Sounds like you have a permissions issue with the temp or virtual directories Crystal uses.

thanks for the response mlmcc...
i had a look at the link u provided and with that query the user was able to get to the parameter selection of the report....in my case the app throws the error as soon as i try to run the report. additionally since the app in that question was asp.net i dont see how it would be the same with me...as mine is a windows app...i sort of think that its something to do with files/installation of crystal reports runtime on the machine that needs to run the reports...but i'm fresh into the development world and seem to have got stuck here...

It may be you have a mix of CR files installed.

Verify the actual versioin of the files.

the reports are all cr version 10. this is a new application and is currently being tested. The workaround i have found is to manually install the CR runtime via the installation file...this means that i have to install two setup files...which is a little incovenient for the clients...would be all good if i could get everything to work from one single setup file....however i am currently trying to test if adding the x86 merge module for crystal reports 2005 to the deployment project will solve this problem.

I used the crystal reports x86 merge module and added that to my setup project. The msi file built with this merge module worked ok. Thanks for the pdf file...i located the msm merge module required using the info from the pdf.
