Took another look at the problem and again found a reference to ZoneAlarm.
Are you in fact using ZA ?

A Comodo Firewall Pro was also cited as a possible cause of this error.

Have you tried Last Known Good Configuration?

There may also be a record of the problem in your Event Viewer.
Or if unresolved and you can reach Windows,  another option may be to check for a crashdump.
The dumps are normally located in c:\windows\minidump\
or  %systemroot%\minidump\

It (or they) will contain information about any bugcheck that may have been created.
Can you paste the latest dump(s) in the "Attach Code Snippet" box and i'll analyse it.

You may need to disable auto restart:
Right click My Computer > Properties > Advanced > Startup and Recovery Settings and uncheck Automatically Restart.

If you cannot reach Windows, you can turn off the 'Automatic reboot on error' option by selecting the Advanced Options Menu at bootup.  Keep press/releasing the F8 function key and you'll reach a menu where you can select the option "Disable Automatic restart on system failure".
Acronis True Image 2019 just released!

Create a reliable backup. Make sure you always have dependable copies of your data so you can restore your entire system or individual files.

The computer did not have zone alarm installed.  I did select last know good configuration and got back into windows.  I then installed all windows updates and reran scandisk.  It ran fine.  Thanks for all the help.
You're very welcome.  If the computer is still functioning well and you're satisfied that the problem is resolved, we would be grateful if this thread could now be completed please.  Thanks.
