Advise on setting up a WAN with remote VPN Access

I am doing a WAN project and would like some expert advise, especially concerning what Cisco products would be suitable.

The situation:
There are two offices: one in Hornsby and the other in Parramatta. Each office has a network of about 10 pcs and the networks are
connected to Internet by ADSL services (based on static IP) from two different ISP.
Now the management of the company wants to connect these networks at two different
places to enhance the sharing of resources between the two offices and provide some sort
of remote access to employees who can then work from home. In any case network
security should be of paramount concern.

I need to do a study of the existing system (that's fine) and produce a proposal containing available technologies to accomplish this task.

Any help with what products (especially interested in Cisco) are best suited to my situation and a general view of how it would work or past experiences with similar situations would be great.

Thank You,

Gabriel

Thanks Rowan,

I'm only looking for general suggestions and not full technical details so your answer is very good for me.

I will leave this open over the weekend to see if anyone can offer any more feedback (common issues) but i really like the solution you have suggested.
