Powerpoint: "Record Narration" feature is truncating narrations.
using the "record narration" feature on Office 2008 for the Mac (powerpoint)
Everything seems to be recording just fine, but when the slide show is played, the audio recording is truncated after several seconds. It does not matter whether timings are saved or not, the same thing occurs. The truncation does not appear to be at regular intervals: each slide seems to have a different time. When I click the little icon to play the sound by itself, it is also truncated. There are no animations in the slide show and no slide transitions.
I have noticed that every time I click to go to the next slide (while recording), I get a little box that indicates the slide is being saved as a movie. I've checked PowerPoint preferences and do not see anything that automatically saves a powerpoint in any format other than pptx. When I spoke with microsoft, they indicated that the problem had to do with quicktime and the operating system and that if I googled the problem I would probably find the answer. Well, I haven't. They claim to know exactly what the issue is but want me to pay them for the answer. Gotta love M$.
