Can't boot laptop due to BIOS password, can this be removed?

I have a friend whose laptop was stolen recently, laptop was eventually recovered but the thief's had put a BIOS password on the laptop which means that the laptop wont boot past the BIOS screen without asking for this password.

Is there anyway around this?

Laptop is a Packard Bell Argo C2.

Thanks AdnanKurtovic: How do i go about doing that?
Hi,

You can try one of the passwords on this page for your type of BIOS to see if it helps:

http://www.uktsupport.co.uk/reference/biosp.htm

If not then another option is to open up the laptop and look for any jumper/DIP switches to reset the BIOS or alternatively find the battery on the motherboard and remove it for a few minutes although depending on the type of password set (Hard Drive, Access password etc) this may not always work.
Download new Bios and Flash Utility from http://support.packardbell.com/global/ for your model.

Any good news?
Any of solutions I have proposed should work. From reseting bios, loading bios, or using factory passwords.
AdnaKurtovic,

Its a laptop (1 - 2 years old). You can't reset bios password by removing battery, you can't load bios because you can't bypass bios, universal passwords never worked for me for any laptop.

"Wakeup" provided with a solution.
Ok, but who you are?
Laptop repair technician - i diagnose and repar about 10 laptops a day.
And how do you know laptop age?
I don't know - i guess:

Laptop is a Packard Bell Argo C2 - EasyNote MZ36
Came with Vista, T5500

I think Packard Bell released it in begining of 2007.

All this is not important, i jast want to say that this laptop is a new generation, not some P4 based on a desktop like Amilo l6820.
