Problem with Prox Server's Sucurity Certificate?

Last Modified: 2013-11-21
I get an error trying to configure an SBS 2003 server and my Vista Home Prem 64 laptop to run RPC/HTTP.  I have been searching for a solution some time and these are the steps I've already taken as advised by many of the threads on this site.

1) I used IE7 to manually install the certificate.  I installed it both in the Trusted Root Certificate and even drilled down to local computer.  Both installs were labeled as a success, but neither Outlook or OWA come up without an error.

2) I followed KB932156 and ensured my user account had read privileges in the regkey drill down given.  The privileges were set properly to begin with.

3) I also attempted to manually download and install the certificate.  Although the thread I found was not complete and feel this is the area which might address the issue.

Any thoughts please?  I originally settled this by using VPN but that is getting cumbersome and it drops.  there have got to be other trouble shooting steps I could follow.  The complete error I'm getting is:

There is a problem with the proxy server's security certificate.  The name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the target site mail.mycompany.com.

Outlook is unable to connect to the proxy server.  (Error Code 10)
